kichou ceramic collection
kichou = individual, precious, irreplaceable
Linda is inspired by traditional Japanese ceramic techniques for their distinct artistic uniqueness, form, beauty and functionality. They express the collaboration between the organic, natural qualities of the stoneware clay body, and the influence of the maker and region.
Her collection includes KURINUKI, which is a Japanese ceramic style where a piece is hand formed by carving out a solid block of clay. Each piece is completely unique. The Kurinuki tableware includes
Yunomi - a Japanese drinking vessel, and Chawan (smaller tea bowl).
Functional, handmade table and tea ware. Rich in cultural tradition and inherently beautiful, with a simple but considered application of glaze. All pieces in this collection are hand built with stoneware Raku clay. They are unique and reflect the marks of the maker.
Stoneware pieces are dishwasher safe although hand washing is recommended to ensure preservation. Some pieces have unglazed areas. These areas are slightly porous so staining or ageing may occur over time.
