Her inspiration for creating art comes from many things, but most of all, the way light falls on a subject, creating atmosphere and mood. She embraces the beauty and serenity of ‘wabi-sabi’; everything perfectly imperfect.
Marion was born in Singapore, and has lived in Chicago, Honolulu, and Perth, before settling in Denmark. She graduated with an Advanced Certificate of Art and Design from Fremantle TAFE, specialising in printmaking and painting. She enjoys the spontaneity of combining printmaking with watercolours, allowing those images to evolve through sensitive layering, and also creates hand-pulled limited edition linocut prints.
Marion also creates intricate origami cranes and butterflies, which are incorporated into artworks. She has participated in many successful art exhibitions and competitions. For this exhibition at Blush Gallery, I have created a body of works inspired by what I love about this part of the world - the sunrise, the sunset, and the quiet moments in between when the mind is at rest and the heart is at peace.
