sarah mitchell
Sarah Mitchell is a fused glass artist and woodworker. She works with Bullseye glass and usually works in bold colours.
Born in Sydney Australia, she grew up in Manchester, Perth, Manilla and Jakarta. After marrying the family moved to Butzback in Germany, Nottingham and finally Northern Ireland. It was here she started learning glasswork and woodturning and set up a small studio in the family home.
After Covid, Sarah moved back to Perth and started studios for her two passions in the leafy hills suburb of Darlington. Leaving behind her background in audiology, research and teaching to follow her dreams. She constantly tries new techniques most recently “boiling” glass; and pulling glass canes to make small murrine which can be used in different projects.
“Glass is a wonderful medium, every piece is individual. You can never tell exactly what greets you when you open the kiln after a firing. It’s full of suprises, just like life”
