Terri grew up in Albany and moved “back home” about six years ago after living away for several decades. Her works are inspired by the sense of being home and the colours and patterns of the region. While Terri is a self-taught artist, she has been lucky to have painted with several inspirational mentors including Jane McKay, Nancy Hillis, Lindsay Pow and David Giles who have encouraged her to explore and develop her own style. She completed Cert. II Art and Design at the Great Southern Institute Technology in 2013 as well as attending workshops and formal art classes. Her works have been shown in numerous group exhibitions in New York, Melbourne, Perth and Albany, as well as regional art galleries.
Terri has used a variety of mediums over the years, and has recently developed a passion for working with cold wax medium and oils. Her recent works feature multiple layers and glazes, with a limited colour palette and different mark-making media and tools.
